Nathan Pinkhasov

Mr. Pinkhasov has a unique background in both transactional and litigation matters which makes him extremely valuable in foreseeing any potential pitfalls or potential claims.  Mr. Pinkhasov’s unique approach to practicing law has brought him acclaim with his clients and colleagues.  The lost art of counseling is the key is his approach with his client, and he endures to bring parties to the settlement table rather than proceeding with lengthy and expensive actions.

Mr. Pinkhasov has earned his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1999, and his completed his accounting undergraduate degree from St. John’s University in 1995.

Mr. Pinkhasov is also an arbitrator for small claims court in Queens County, and a member of the Queens County Bar Association.

Associates

Yolanda Rivero, Esq.

Ms. Rivero joined the firm in April 2013, and in doing so has returned to real estate transactional matters.  As part of the practice of representing individual buyers and sellers in residential real estate matters, Ms. Rivero is involved in all aspects of the transaction from contract review and execution, title reviews, conducting closing and post-closing issues.  She has also managed and supervised the real estate transactions during her prior tenures at other real estate firms, and took great care in resolving title issues and making sure that her clients were fully informed and prepared for their closings.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Rivero was actively engaged in all aspects of employment and labor litigation, involving issues under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”), the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) as well as claims under New York State and New York City law.  Ms. Rivero also has experience in bankruptcy matters, and specifically has been involved in all aspects of bankruptcy involving individuals seeking protection under Chapters 7 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code.  She also utilized her knowledge of Bankruptcy law to defend her clients’ interest in their employment litigation in Bankruptcy Court as creditors.  She has also worked representing clients in a full range of other legal issues such as immigration and personal injury.

Ms. Rivero transactional real estate experience stems from Malik & Associates PC and Law Offices of Jose A. Rey P.C..

Ms. Rivero received her J.D. from Albany Law School, and her B.A. in Psychology and Economics from N.Y.U.  She is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Ms. Rivero is also fluent in Spanish.

 

Connie Hong

Ms. Hong joined the firm in August 2016. With a strong background in both residential and commercial real estate, Ms. Hong has represented numerous buyers and sellers, from those who are buying or selling for the first time to the more experienced investors. Using a case-by-case approach, Ms. Hong provides client-centric representation, ensuring that her clients remain informed and at ease throughout the entire buy/sell process. From contract drafting and negotiations, to title review and closing, Ms. Hong’s dedication and zeal to each individual client enhances her ability to memorialize and protect their interests. Aside from real estate, Ms. Hong also represents a variety of lenders in residential lending and also practices estate planning.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hong advocated diligently on behalf of New York homeowners for safe and affordable housing. In her experience, she has defended homeowners against mortgage foreclosures, and obtained relief for clients that were victimized by both licensed and unlicensed contractors and other issues stemming from natural disasters.

Ms. Hong received her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, and her B.A. in Political Science and Pre-Law from The City College of New York. She is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey.

Ms. Hong is fluent in Chinese and can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and Chaozhou dialects.

 

Mehrnoosh Torbatnejad

May Torbatnejad, Esq. joined the firm in fall 2017. Her practice focuses on matrimonial and family law. She has represented clients concerning a broad range of matrimonial and family matters, including prenuptial and separation agreements, equitable distribution, child support and spousal support proceedings, child custody and visitation disputes, orders of protection, and uncontested divorces.

Ms. Torbatnejad received her Juris Doctorate from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2013 with a concentration in family law. During law school, Ms. Torbatnejad interned for the Honorable Anne-Marie Jolly in the Bronx Family Court, where she drafted memoranda on child abuse and neglect cases. She is a proud alumna of the Cardozo Journal of Law & Gender where she served as Senior Articles Editor. Her Note, “Untold Truths: What Adoptive Parents Should Know About Their Adoptee’s In Utero Drug and Alcohol Exposure” was published in 2012.
Ms. Torbatnejad received a Bachelor of Arts from New York University in 2008. Her undergraduate studies in journalism and sociology, as well as her experience as a reporter for the New York Daily News, provided her with the tools and understanding to assess and appreciate the complex nature of matrimonial and family law issues. She is well-versed in prioritizing client needs in oftentimes emotionally challenging circumstances.

Senior Paralegal

Johanna Morales

Johanna Morales joined the Law Offices of Nathan Pinkhasov, PLLC in March of 2009, and heads the Banking Department as the senior paralegal. Mrs. Morales is involved in all aspects from refinances to purchases in residential and commercial transaction and CEMA’s.  She also prepares loan documents both for Major and Private Lenders.   She handles all post-closing issues and insures compliance with all Federal, State and investor guidelines and regulations. Mrs. Morales has extensive experience in representing and providing guidance to mortgage lenders and brokers. She has managed and supervised the Bank Department transactions during her prior tenures at other real estate firms.

Mrs. Morales is also involved in supporting our Real Estate Department as well.  She has and can handle anything from contract execution to closing and everything in between. She is able to make connections with the client and help them understand the transactions and prepare them for their closings.

Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Morales was a Bank Paralegal for an additional six years at various law firms.

Mrs. Morales received her Bachelor degree in Law and Paralegal Studies from New York College of Technology located in Downtown Brooklyn, NY. She is also a board member to G&SP (Gay and Straight People) which is a non for profit organization that is devoted to giving back via volunteering and fundraising for various charities that help with Autism, Cancer Research, Aids Awareness, and helping the Homeless.
